Bee Skep - Hand Hooked Rug - Original Design

A bee skep, a crow, a bee and a primitive bloom - all the elements of primitive decor!

Bee Skep is 12" x 18" and has been hooked on primitive linen - for long lasting wearability. I especially love the bee skep in this piece. It was done using one of my spot dye's that I called Bee Skep along with some British plaid to define the skep. The crow is done in a faded black, while the background is hooked in a hit and miss combination of blues and plaids. It's a simple rug but one that says everything it has to say about the wonder of nature and the hints of spring to come. As with all my rugs the edges are corded and whip stitched with 100% wool yarn and edged on the back with black twill tape. I believe in offering a product that has quality workmanship and it does not leave my home unless I absolutely love it too. A lot of heart goes into every piece I hook. This original piece will come signed and dated.

Spring Cat and Faded Blooms - 2005

This rug measures 11 x 17 and was made as the first in a series of original designs. I used all my own hand dyed wool fabrics. The background was done with an abrashed wool. Crow Sampler - SOLD

This little original FWP sampler measures 9x9 and was made to try out one of the new wools I had just dyed called RED ISLAND FOX. This was the only wool used in the background. A faded black was used to hook the crow. I used all my own hand dyed wool fabrics.It was hooked on premium linen with the edges turned under and secured with cotton twill tape. Comes signed and dated.

Hooked Rug Heart Candle Mat - SOLD

This is a FWP Original. The hooked rug (8 x 8) was done using our own hand dyed wools on a scottish burlap. The edges have been turned under and finished off with twill tape. There were 5 different shades of red used including several textures. The background was done in a 4 square pattern using light beige and yellow. It comes signed and dated. Candle mats are a great decorative prim item to protect the finish of your furniture when using candles.

Since this is a candle mat you will receive a 7" rusty tin pie plate that has been filled with 2 cups of our orange scented rose hips, cinnamon sticks and orange peel. In the middle of the plate is a rusty tin pail votive which will include one of our hand poured candles. Your choice: vanilla or gingerbread. Item comes with a Valentine hang tag.
