Church Doll

Why are they called church dolls? In olden days when families went to church with young ones by their side - these dolls were made to occupy them during church service. At first they were made from men\'s fancy handkerchiefs and then evolved into more elaborate primitive dolls. A child could play with this doll and if it fell it would not disturb the service, while a porcelain doll would shatter. These are wonderful 12\" church dolls that have gone through my own 7 step grunging process to give them a real timeworn look showing a well loved doll. The face is needlescuplted and the hair is natural sheep\'s wool that has been needlefelted on her head. I have used painter\'s pencils to draw on her eyes. The fabric used is 1800\'s reproduction fabric. Price is for one doll only! You can choose between mustard, hunter green or cranberry dress. Doll comes with our own prim hang tag. Thanks to Patchwork Patty Primitives for the use of her pattern. No glue was used in making this item. Not my original Pattern... Regular Price $28.00 now $10.00 plus $6.00 postage. Only two available..
